The 56K Analogue Dial-up is undoubtedly the most common form of connectivity available today, as it uses a conventional analogue telephone line. The only requirement for getting connected is the acquisition of a modem and a dial-up account.
Analogue dial-ups are available to anyone with a telephone line, and the running costs are minimal. The choices of modems are also extensive, and the cost of acquiring one low.
The major advantage of using an Analogue dial-up, is that there is no real need for more than one telephone line, as the same line can also be used for voice calls.
